Paws for Japan ~ World Vets – Greetings Card Auction

I blogged a few days ago about various animal welfare groups which are trying to help with relief for animals who have been caught up in the dreadful devastation facing Japan. In addition to donations made to those wonderful organisations helping people, I know the animal welfare groups are very grateful for all financial help given.

Paws for Japan

Today I have chosen to participate in Paws for Japan in support of World Vets which is mobilising a team to go to Japan and provide aid to established groups which are already present in the country. If you are able to donate anything to World Vets, please click on the above link and follow the instructions.

Update: the World Vets chip-in seems to be up and running again now so you can use that to donate, as below, or go via the above link to the website.

Greeting Cards Auction

I have also decided to auction a set of five of my photographic A5 greetings cards to hopefully help raise a little money for this amazing organisation. Please click on the gallery below to view the cards included – there is one card each of the five designs featured; each with an envelope. These cards can be used for whichever occasion you choose as they are left blank for you to add your own message.

To bid on the cards, please enter your bid as a comment below this post. Please ensure you enter a valid email address (which only I will be able to see). You can bid as many times as you wish, provided your bid is always higher than the previous bidder’s:)My blog is set so that I have to approve a person’s first comment (due to the high volume of spam sent my way) so your comment may not show immediately, but I’ll approve it as soon as I can (and see if there’s any work around).

I’m happy to accept bids from outside of the UK, but please place bids in GBP£ – I use http://www.xe.com to convert currencies.  The winning bidder will need to be willing and able to donate their winning bid amount via an online donation, direct to World Vets, and provide me with proof of your donation, by email, to receive the cards.

Bidding is now open and will close on Thursday 24 March 2011, with the cards to be posted out once I have received proof of your donation to World Vets. These cards usually retail for £2.50 each and there are five of them, so please bid generously for this fantastic cause.

Thank you:)

Our thoughts are very much with everyone in Japan who is affected by the current situation and we are also working as a family to fundraise for a wonderful charity which is already out there and helping the people of Japan.

Thank you, Dougal and Mango :-)

Mango we use £ in the UK, so I’ve used http://www.xe.com which tells me today that EUR30 is just over £26.

So we’ll call the current top bid £26 – thank you :-)
