Adopted! ~ Super Scrummy, Smiley Saxon Seeks Special Someone(s)

30 April 2011 ~ absolutely thrilled to tell you that this wonderful boy has been adopted. On the very same day that his buddy Sonny found a home too, how fabulous is that? So pleased for them both and really glad I had the pleasure of meeting them both:-)

Recently I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and photographing Saxon, a totally gorgeous male German Shepherd Dog (GSD) cross, who is being rehomed by Bath Cats & Dogs Home. He really is a completely lovely dog and I’m amazed that he hasn’t been adopted already.

Saxon is seven years old, friendly and easy going and as you can see, beautiful! His carer says he he loves cuddles and fuss and although he can sometimes be aloof with new people at first, he is eternally loyal once bonded.

Although I had admired him from afar for a while now, this was my first introduction to Saxon and I completely fell under his spell.

When we first got into the paddock he had a good sniff around (who can blame him, all those exciting other doggie smells to be found!), but became much more responsive, as you can see from the photos :)  He really will make the most fabulous friend for a special someone(s). I think he would suit an active family who are seeking a fabulous new best friend to enjoy walks and have fun with.

What a fine schnozzle!

Saxon is good with most other dogs, so could certainly live with another dog(s) following successful introductions. He is suitable for families with children aged 10+, or 8+ if the children are dog-savvy and used to GSD-sized dogs. It’s not known how Saxon is with cats, so he is currently looking for a cat-free home.

This smiley boy deserves an amazing forever home!

Saxon’s carer says he is strong on the lead, but is being trained to a Halti (head collar) which is helping a great deal. He can sometimes lunge at a passing dog, but is fine off lead around other dogs. He will need an owner who is strong enough to be able to control him on walks.

Saxon loves being around people and can be slightly destructive if left for a long time, so he is looking for someone who is around much of the time, to ensure he is not left for long periods. With a boy this gorgeous, you wouldn’t want to be apart for long anyway!

Look into my eyes!

Saxon has formed a loving bond with his carer and likes to put his paws on the shoulders of his friends, to get cuddles:)He is looking forward to finding a wonderful new person/family to give him the love and lifestyle he very much deserves.

Saxon’s carer adores him (as do I!)

Here’s a little video clip of Saxon in action and looking completely gorgeous:)

Please let them know that you saw Saxon at Poochie Freak. I’m completely in love with him, as you may have guessed!
